kalora

kalora is the indian legend of the loons.
kalora was an indian princess. the day before her brave went to war, he carved his beautifull princess,and himself a seashell necklace. the brave warrior asked kalora to wait for him, and promised to return to her. after many moons and most of the warriors had return to their village, kalora was in dispair that her brave had not returned. fearing that he had been killed in battle she went to the river and from the highest cliff she trew herself and her unborn child into the water. at that same moment the brave warrior came riding into the village returning to his beautifull pregnant princess. after learning of what kalora had done, the brave warrior rush to the cliff where the two of them had spent so much time together, and jumped in after her.

after a few moments on the still water of the lake surfaced two beautifull loons, with a necklace of seashell around their neck.

and this is how the legend of the loons was born.
